Adviser Transition and Introduction
With a special video announcement, Andy Price, Scout Executive of the Grand Canyon Council announces Jeff Posey as our next Lodge Adviser. Ken Adams, our current Lodge Adviser, will be working with Jeff on a smooth transition.
Jeff will be installed with our officers at our January 2020 banquet.
Here is a brief bio on our next Lodge Adviser.
Jeff Posey has been involved in the scouting program for 40 years, starting out in Cub Scouts. He received his Eagle Scout in 1984 as a member of the National Capital Area Council and received his Vigil Honor in 1987 as a member of Aloha Council. Jeff’s youth leadership roles include Lodge Chief for Na Mokupuni O Lawelawe in Hawaii, W3C Section Chief & 1991 National Vice-Chief.
As an adult leader, Jeff has served as W4C Section Advisor, Western Region OA NLS Coordinator and Western Region OA Trading Post manager. He currently serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 30, where is son Christian is currently a 1st Class Scout.
When asked what keeps him active in scouting, Jeff stated that he is motivated by the thought of giving back to a program that has given him so much. It is important to leave a positive lasting legacy for the next generation of scouts.
Jeff is married to Shari Posey, and has a 15 year old daughter Emily who attends Pinnacle Peak High School. Christian is 12 years old and attends Mountain Trail Middle School. They have lived in Phoenix for 18 years, and Jeff is the Manager of Facilities and Security for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.
